Covid 19: Outlook for business and the UK economy
In this article I take a look at how Covid 19 has impacted businesses and the wider economy. I take into account the measures the government has employed to help keep the economy ticking over and the impact of the virus on UK businesses and particular industries. I conclude with an evaluation of some of the things businesses are doing to help them tough out the coming months ahead, as well as offer my own thoughts as to what could be done, or could happen, in the near future.

Divorce on demand!
On the 8th of June 2020 The Divorce, Dissolution and Separation Bill underwent its second reading in the House of Commons and was voted through to the committee stage by an overwhelming 236 votes to 16. This bill seeks to change the current law on divorce by amending the provisions set down in the Matrimonial Causes Act 1973 and the Civil Partnership Act 2004.

Covid 19 Tracing app
Government plans to roll out a Covid 19 Tracking app following a pilot test on the Isle of Wight have been capturing my attention in recent weeks. NHSX, which is the new digital transformation arm of the NHS and who will soon be responsible for the roll out of the app across the UK are using a centralised system which could potentially see individual personal data held on a state central server.

Leaving the EU
Several 'Brexit models' have been suggested by various academics, such as EFTA, WTO, 'Canada Plus', etc, as a way out of the EU. However in mid 2019 the UK is yet to have reached an agreement with the EU and in the background public opinion has become more protectionist and populist. Has the EU negotiated too stubbornly and rigidly with the UK and is it likely the UK will be trading on WTO terms in the future as a result?
